Icemint Data

We buy the records software companies leave behind when they close.

What we buy. The engineering record of a company as one lot: source repositories and their history, the issue tracker, the team chat export, the internal documents, and related technical records. We buy from founders who are winding down and from the administrators and liquidators of companies that already have.

How it works. We buy as-is, pay at signing, and keep the systems alive until the export is complete, funding lapsed subscriptions where needed. Exclusions you name stay out. The buyer on every contract is Icemint LLC, a Wyoming company.

Why. Engineering histories are used to train and evaluate software tools. A company's record is worth more intact than deleted, and the people who built it deserve to be paid for it rather than have it expire on a billing clock.

What we do not buy. Customer databases, consumer or patient data, payment records, personal mailboxes, anything a seller does not own or cannot lawfully sell.

How people's data is protected. Names, email addresses, secrets and credentials are stripped from the records before anything is used or passed on. Categories a seller marks as excluded are deleted, and we confirm the deletion in writing. No record leaves our storage without a written contract covering it.

Why you received a mail from us. We write to founders and officers of companies that have publicly announced a shutdown, and to the practitioners appointed over companies in insolvency. We take the name and the news from public sources: press, company registries, court and gazette notices. We write at most three times. Reply "stop" to any mail and you will not hear from us again; see the privacy notice for the rest.
